The project is part of a larger  African initiative that has established support from multiple communities . The vision of this project is to create a community of happy, healthy, and connected residents.  This project is community based and includes, but is not limited .

Uganda is referred to as “THE PEARL OF AFRICA “with the diverse land scape that encompasses the snow capped  Rwenzori mountains, lake Victoria, abundant wildlife, rare birds ,

Uganda is also a land locked country located in the East  of Africa.

WHAT DOES HEART OF YOGA AFRICA OFFER?              1.Introduction and Orientation

An introduction to HYA our work and what to expect during your time with us. In country orientation and information about the local areas including meeting you at your accommodation on the first day.

 2.Advice and Information in Uganda

Information during your time in Uganda including things to do,places to visit and sight- seeing.we also provide a 24 hour contact number of a HYA staff member when in country.

 3.Costs of volunteering with us.

HYA does not charge for the support and services it offers volunteers as we know you will be working with us to make a difference for the communities where we work. All that we ask is that you cover the costs associated with volunteering with us.

Typical Costs include: Accommodation and food,Airport transfers, transport ie to and from the yoga outreaches, flights and visas (volunteers are advised to obtain a tourist visa to enter Uganda, return tickets and a Credit card(and also hard cash), Yellow fever Certificate, A valid Passport  that is expiring atleast 6 months from the date you enter Uganda).

4.Fundraising

We also encourage all of our volunteers to fundraise some money at home before they come. Bringing a donation from friends and family back home to Uganda is unique in a way that it will make a big impact on many lives.

As an organization, our funds are limited.Heart Of Yoga Africa sets a budget for our all core projects. However, if you would like to develop these projects further,or do new activities then the extra costs would have to be covered by any money fundraised by you. Since our establishment in 2019 to surpport ourselves, we have relied upon the donations of individual donors, friends, family and visitors.

Small funds brought by our volunteers go a long way in keeping our programs running and starting up new ones

About

TEACHERS

Etou Stuart

yoga teacher
I started yoga 7 years ago,  but had no idea about what exactly yoga was all about, in my understanding I thought it’s some Indian thing, religion ,for rich people, women and this was quite challenging to absorb and learn.
After under a day to day life practice , research and attending Emma Warmington and Mark Whitwell Heart Of yoga teacher training . I got my answers, that there’s yoga for every individual with love and connection of themselves with their bodies.
This is practiced and spread to all my under served communities through our movements .

Lawrence Mupere

yoga teacher
I came to yoga 6 years ago with a negative perception about Yoga thinking that it was only for
the rich and ladies .
After sometime of practicing yoga,it taught me how to access the present moment which is so
important in my day to day life. I am beyond grateful and thankful to Emma Warmington and Mark Whitwell
for passing the knowledge unto me thus learning that there is yoga for everyone for as long as
you can breathe.
Lawrence teaches free outreach yoga classes to under served communities because he believes
everyone should have a chance to learn and enjoy the beneficial techniques that yoga has to
offer regardless of age , physical limitations and ability to pay.
